'Selected'

A long set of links to individual webcomics.

The earliest comics all link to the excellent xkxd as this little project began as 'Selected xkcd'.

'Selected' links appear daily (or thereabouts) on my Twitter and Facebook accounts and are added here soon after.

There are some missing entries. Either I forgot that day, usually because I was ill, or I forgot to duplicate the post on my Facebook account - which is where I recovered the historical entries from.

Warning

Many of these are either Not Safe for Work or more than a little off colour.

Tip

Opening the Links The text links will replace the current page with the relevant comic. If you want the comic to open in another browser tab (or window) then use the appropriate key combination for your browser whilst clicking the link. Links to locations outside this site are indicted by an icon 'external-link' clicking on this will open the link in a new tab, however you will have less control over the process that if you do this via your browser.

Sources

The comics were sourced from the following sites:

[nw]  xkcd or [nw]  for mobiles
The greatest and the geekiest. 'Pay attention at the back there!' - Because you will need to think. Don't forget to click on the images for the 'alt-text'.
[nw]  The Devils Panties
Humorous events in the life of Jennie Breedon, sometimes lightly fictionalised. Oh, and it's 'Not Satanic Porn', honest!
[nw]  Bunny
Manic Lagomorphs, explosions and much geekery. Often covers similar ground to xkcd but is much more free ranging. Updates are now very sporadic.
[nw]  Two Lumps
Two cats and their owner(s). A lot more fun than it might sound.
[nw]  Help Desk
Ubersoft. The largest Software Company ever known. Who knows what evil lurks in the heart of men - and Bosses. Fear the Marketing Department.
[nw]  Kernel Panic
Deep in the bowels of 'A Company' the IT team are panicking. The CEO is making IT decisions...
[nw]  User Friendly
One of the early greats. The staff of a small Canadian ISP get on with life and the occasional surreal excursion. Now static and recycling old material automatically, when will Iliad be back!
[nw]  S S D D
Two Sci-Fi stories in two timelines, one in a world somewhat like ours. Biting, off colour and very funny. Oh, and S.S.D.D. stands for something, probably what you think is does. Another comic with a title that has little to do with the contents.
[nw]  The Church of the Poisoned Minds
One Shot commentary from the very very bitter and cynical artist of S.S.D.D. When he isn't fobbing us off with his home videos...
[nw]  The Bunny System
Cute Bunnies! What could go wrong? Quite a lot, including a lot of smut. Now finished after a seven year run.
[nw]  Bug
Young cartoonist writes about mainly young things happening to... Bugs! Cynical humour and loads of expressiveness in very few lines.
[nw]  Edible Dirt
Skirts and quite often crosses the bounds of bad taste but can achieve some remarkable 'hits'.
[nw]  What The Hell Man
Stick Figure comic with a limited run. Ideas based on IM chaps between friends. Quite explicit in what it covers.
[nw]  Perry Bible Fellowship
Sicker, more twisted and downright weirder than the average exploding antelope. Now intermittent and many of the comics have been removed to encourage people to buy the book.
[nw]  Nobody Scores
'A Little Comic About Inevitable Disaster'. Cynical one-shots with a regular cast. Was 'on hiatus', now seems to be back.
[nw]  Faulty Logic
Produced by two different artists. Odd in an endearing way with a focus on working in Retail. Went quiet but producing intermittent updates.
[nw]  Little Vampires
Fairly new. Sometimes funny but often settles for cuteness. Another blow to the stake in the heart of Real Vampires I (don't) fear.
[nw]  Sinister Cat
Exactly One Hundred panels of the sayings of a Sinister Cat.
[nw]  Sci-ence
Science and Skeptic based comics. High quality of both art and science in both Comic and Blog. A sort of Ben Goldacre with ammusing scribbles.

Other Comics

These are other worthwhile comics that I haven't chosen any 'Selected' items from, usually because they are based around a continuous narrative (and therefore don't have updates that stand by themselves) or to serious for a selection of daily 'funnies'

[nw]  Shlock Mercenary
Science Fiction comic about Mercenaries making with the funny. Unfortunately the daily entries require to much knowledge of the back story for 'Selected'.
[nw]  Geebas On Parade
Another Jennie Breedon comic. Covers her experienced during Live Action Roleplay (LARP). Impenetrable to most normal beings but amusing to those who understand what’s going on. Sporadic updates.
[nw]  The Ten Doctors
An awesome Fan-Fic of the highest quality rendered in pencil and ink. Spot on in the characterisation, action etc.
[nw]  Scandinavia And The World
Quirky exploration of Scandinavian issues featuring National Personifications (including Miss Sweden, Yum!)

The Comments

I often add a relevant comment about the comic when I post it. These are shown in the archives, sometimes with slight modifications. If you find them a little odd they will often make more sense if you mentally add 'Todays Selected' in front of them.

In the early days I sometimes didn't add a comment. In these cases where the author has assigned a title this is used, shown 'thus'. Where they haven't I have added my own, shown "thus".
